Ibadan goes along its Ten Inch Beat (TIB) series with the 7th release, bringing out a new very interesting project. In the first place, Jerome Sydenham, label owner, and Tiger Stripes, better known as Mikael Nordgren (or mentioning his other pen names like 12th Floor and D'Malicious), hide under the signature of F12. It isn't the first time that these dj/producers work together: you surely remember "Go Bang!", released an year ago on the mother label, which met with success among the lovers of this kind of music, but just then for the homonym precedent it is immediately necessary to establish a parallel comparison between the two tracks. We can consider this new version of "Go Bang!", more tech since the electro/tech projects, even if the basic inspiration suggested by afro beat, normally are pressed on the sublabel called TIB. The 10" offers us two versions: the first called "feat. Swedish Hitmusic Strings", as the name exactly says, is characterized by an explosion of violins and other kind of strings, instead in the second one, which is a sort of instrumental/dub version, is mainly pointed out the beat and the darkness pf the vibe. In my opinion the project is highly influenced by Tiger Stripes' Nordic roots, Swedish by birth, who gives us an unique thrill which we can't easily meet in all the latest releases of the moment. Mikael Nordgren's contribution has been crucial to all intents and purposes, especially for reintroducing, for the third time (the precedents are the first "Go Bang!" and "Serenity"), the "made in Sweden" violinist group coordinated by him. It should be noted also that despite of the "tech" nature of the track, it is possible to perceive a musicality in itself but in this case is important to consider that this dj/producer is also a great musician, which contemporary plays different instruments like bass, guitar, drums and piano from the age of 10 and not for a pure chance his productions always have something more to offer.
Tracklist:
1. "Go Bang!"
2. "Go Bang!" (feat. Swedish Hitmusic Strings)
