Victor Font aka Mr. V, for the way things go on, is one of the most celebrated dj/producer of the moment inside deep house music. Despite of the avalanche of projects released during the last months and also the preparation of his first album, he successes to set aside some time to dedicate for his first mixed compilation for Shack Music label, based in London. The title, as usual, is immediately able to create an idea of how the contain will be in the inside; "Soul Sweat Energy" perfectly accommodates with the spirit of making a session that exclusively could relax everyone who wants to lend it an ear. Despite of hung cold of this Christmas period, we can immediately heat with the first track, Jihad Muhammad's "Sands Of Time", making us to believe for few minutes to be in somehow Caribbean island. Starting with the second track until the fifth, the main musical theme is soul, obviously remaining into the fuzzy and velvety field of deep house. Thanks to Candy Apple's "No. 1", proposed in the version performed by the French producer Rocco, we can enjoy a particular atmosphere that goes on with "Untitled Love Affair", remixed by the same Victor and two Moses Mc Clean's tracks, "Keep On", according to the reading key of the Italian producer Luis Radio, and "Be There For You" as for the interpretation of the Parisian producer, Franck Roger. We go back to the latin "paradise", already proposed at the beginning, thanks to the poetical Light 4 Lines' "Azul" but it can't be followed no less that the sensual vocal of Miss Patty's "Get Over It", presented with an unreleased edit created on purpose for this mixed session. The final part, which goes from track no.8 to no.12, is surely more pushed than the previous one, but also perfect to begin to move the first steps into the home dancefloor; despite of this change of rhythm, the class and the accuracy of the selection is never of a lowest level: in these last five tracks we can find Quentin Harris' "The Sniper", a dub version of Demarkus Lewis' "Love Untitled Affair", Dj Technique's "Charm City Groove" and "Sunrise", and a very refined version of Mr. V's "In My Loving Memory" at the end. To finish our listening we meet again Miss Patty with her "U Treating Me Right" presented in a new dub version. Surely the duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes quickly passes, like if nothing were. The mix is really excellent and precise: there is nothing left to suggest the purchase!
